The Morning
A few months ago, when Sandra and Nick asked me to be part of the Launch Party for their new Podcast (Lash Snob) I was so ecstatic! I have known them for about a year now, we filmed a Youtube video for their lash business called, Iconic Lash Lounge ( click here to check it out). Aside from their hard work and generosity towards others, they don’t shy away from supporting other local businesses.
The morning of the event, my alarm went off at 7:00am, which meant… 5 hours until show time! I got up, made coffee and started getting ready. I was nervous because I had to speak in front of people, literally one of my worst fears (more on that in a later post) but I wasn’t going to let fear stop me from being a part of this special moment!
Behind The Scenes
I headed off to Bloomingdales in White Plains, NY, where the event was taking place. Dressed with sweats and sneakers because from experience ,I know there is a lot of running around before an event. I arrived at 10:00am, which was the time we were going to do a walk through, which is like rehearsals. But no one from the show was there yet. At this point, the decor and the vendors were setting up. Sandra and the models showed up after getting their hair done at Dry Luxe Salon and looking glamorous! Showtime is near, and we’re anxiously awaiting the final details to begin the show…
Showtime
The Fashion show started at 12:40pm but in reality the event started when the guests arrived! They mingled and tasted the delicious samples from Baked After Midnight, Chubby Cakes and The Poppery. Afterwards, the guests went to take a seat and wait for the show to start, while DJ Theo played some awesome beats! Once the show started, Sandra and Nick introduced themselves and shared why they wanted to start a Podcast, then they opened up the fashion show.
There were 5 looks, each look showcased the different lash sets, fashion outfits and makeup looks. In between each look, a lucky member of the audience won a prize!
After the fashion show people were taking pictures, getting a closer look at the models and shopping. To the side of the stage Kevin and his team from Risotto Restaurant, were serving some tasty pasta and cheese! I was the lucky one to have the last serving before they ran out and it was tasty!
