It’s Saturday morning, my sister, nephew and I walk into Le Labo just 30 minutes after they have opened and already they have plenty of customers. The Le Labo we went to is located on 233 Elizabeth Street in Manhattan. The vibe inside is very chill and rustic. In the store they have testers displayed so you can smell and experience all of their Fine collection of perfumes, candles and body products. Le labs is so unique because they do not stock the perfumes. They mix and package the perfume while you sit on a stool and experience the process. Their perfumes are gender neutral so they can be worn by women and men.
For some time, I have been on a mission to smell Santal 33 which is there most popular scent. I grab the bottle take a sniff and “NO” my brain signaled “I don’t like it”. I continue to smell more and pick my two favorite ones Another 13 and Nior 29 and ask for a sample( Samples are $6.00 for .05fl ). Intriguing and unique is how I can best describe the scents. Another 13 is composed of ambroxan which is a synthetic animal musk, jasmine, moss and ambrette seeds absolute. Noir 29 is composed of bergamot, fig, bay leaves, cedar wood, vetiver and musk. It combines depth and freshness, its complexity is alluring and addctive.
In the video, I quickly interview a customer who refilled his “city exclusive” Gaiac which is only sold in Tokyo! City exclusive is only sold in those cities in which they were inspired such as London, Paris, Chicago. On September 1st, they become available in all cities for a limited time. I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to Le Labo and experience it. Thank you for reading, please let me know if you have any suggestions of where I should go next!
