Bedsides sharing my handpicked swimsuits, I also wanted to share with you my body issue with hopes that you can relate. By no means do I consider myself a “model” by society standards because throughout time society standards have changed on what the ideal body should be!!!

I always had and will have thick thighs, as a teenager that was always POINTED OUT to me. So I wanted to fit into society standards and be “model thin.” I was overweight and would yo-yo diet a lot (I even tried Slim-Fast). I would barley eat anything throughout the day and binge eat when I went home. I was really unhappy, depressed and obsessed with being skinny.

It was not until after high school that I moved to GA and really took the time to invest in my health. I understood that it was not about looking like a model, but being the best of me possible. I know it may should cliché and all, but if you have been there you know it’s the truth.

Now, as a women I value my health so much! Of course, I still have pizza and cookies occasionally but I am not obsessing over my body like before. I embrace my thick thighs and focus on being better because honestly the body is always a working progress. I now focus on feeling physically fit and strong, being able to trust your body to sprint up a hill or just doing one more push up is one of the greatest feelings.

Going back to living in GA, I lost 20 lbs on my own and hit a plateau. I was committed on being the best I can possibly be, so I asked for professional help. With this help I was able to break past that plateau. Today, I am happy with my body but like I said before, your body is always a work progress. Today, I workout with my boyfriend who is a professional trainer and we do boxing which is something new and exciting. Now I also use what I have learned to help others, like my sister for example, who is going through her progress as well. Soon, I will share with you fitness and wellness information because it’s something I am truly passionate about.

Thank you for reading my article and I want to hear from you!
